Power strike temporarily postponed after Govt. decision not to go ahead with privatization of Puducherry Electricity department:

Meeting with Hon’ble CM Thiru. N. Rangasamy, Hon’ble Power Minister Thiru. Namachivayam of Puducherry has just concluded.

Hon’ble Power Minister in the presence of Chairman, AIPEF Er. Shailendra Dubey ji, AIPEF Sr. Vice president Er. Jayanthi Madam and other union leaders of Puducherry JAC categorically assured and declared in the press conference that no further action on privatization of Puducherry Electricity department will be undertaken without taking into confidence of power employees.

After the public announcement by Puducherry Power Minister, indefinite strike has been temporarily postponed.
In detailed discussions with the Chief Minister, withdrawal of privatization of Varanasi DISCOM and withdrawal of formation of Joint Venture company in J&K became the centre point which motivated Puducherry Government not to go ahead with the privatization of Puducherry Electricity department.

On behalf of Puducherry Engineers and Employees, I sincerely thank AIPEF Chairman Er. Shailendra Dubey ji, Er Jayanthi Madam, Sr. Vice President, AIPEF, Sh. Prashanta Choudary, Convenor, NCCOEEE and all state Engineers/Union Leaders for coming all the way to Puducherry for supporting us and for having made the strike a great success.

Congratulations & Revolutionary Greetings to Power Employees & Engineers of Puducherry for forcing the Govt not to go ahead for Privatization of Puducherry Electricity Department.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
Long discussions were held with CM Nagaswamy & Power Minister in Chief Minister’s Chamber. CM demanded agreements of UP and J&K regarding withdrawal of Govt decisions on privatization. I said I can give it just now from my mobile. Power Minister told CM that he has got both the agreements and briefed CM about it. After this CM categorically told that although Central Govt is pressurising to go ahead for privatization but our Cabinet has not taken any decision regarding privatization. CM further said that his Govt will send all feed back of Power Employees & other stake holders to Central Govt and no further step will be taken for privatization without discussing the issue with employees. Power Minister announced this decision publically in Press along with me and other employee leaders.
A Historic Day for Power Employees & Engineers. I salute Electricity Employees & Engineers Action Committee against Privatization and their prime office bearers for exhibiting a great show of Unity & Strength. Special thanks to Prashant Chowdhary Convener NCCOEEE, Er Jayanthi T & her TEAM TNEBEA and most important Er D Taniguevalene GS of Puducherry Power Engineers.
